(read in Spanish)
A light, fast-moving novel narrated by Axel, a student from Hamburg in the 19th century, who, driven by his slightly mad professor uncle, joins him to an expedition towards the center of the Earth, accompanied by a silent Icelandic guide.
Compared to other Vernes' books, I didn't like this one too much. Mostly because the science is very flawed (the cool temperature at 100+ km below the Earth crust, underground electrical phenomena that generates enough light for photo-synthetic life to sustain itself), but also because Vernes' imagination takes him too far (dinosaurs in an underground sea, come on), and because in some parts the book is outright unbelieveable (riding on top of lava in a flimsy wooden raft for hours).
