Switched to another WP latex plugin
March 25th, 2009 at 8:17 am(Update 11.07.2009: I’ve switched to another plugin)
For some reason the latex plugin I’ve been using so far to render math here in the blog has ceased working yesterday.
So I’ve installed an alternative one, named easy latex. It’s quite similar to the previous one, but has some nice features such as increasing the font size used in the images. This is nice, because subscripts and superscripts are better seen this way (
).
So, thanks Manoj, for writing easy-latex and making it available.

You might try my LaTeX plugin for WordPress as well – WP QuickLaTeX.
Usual plugins (including WP LaTeX and Easy LaTeX you switched to) just convert LaTeX code into image completely ignoring important information on how to position that image inside text line properly. This often leads to “jumpy” equations painful for eyes and decreases overall readability of the web article.
I’ve created special plugin named WP QuickLaTeX which solves this issue. Besides converting LaTeX code into image it provides information on how to position generated image on the web page properly so that the formula and surrounding text will blend together well.
Plugin’s homepage: WP QuickLaTeX
Example of web article powered by WP QuickLaTeX: Central Differences
Plugin is being intensively developed, with many features in plan.
I would appreciate your opinion.
