creationism in US schools

August 9th, 2005 at 9:59 pm

I read somewhere that several states in the US are trying to push laws for teaching creationism (the belief that life forms are so complex that their creation cannot be explained by Darwinian evolutionary theory alone, but rather points to intentional creation, presumably divine). Also:

President Bush waded into the debate over evolution and “intelligent design” yesterday, saying schools should teach both theories on the creation and complexity of life.

This is, needless to say, very very sad.
