rant about weather and perl

  • Most of Israel’s annual rain amounts happen in just a few selected days in a year. This morning one such rain caught me on my way to the bus. I’m completely soaked !!! Sucks.
  • If you want to develop ulcers, the sure way is to try and install compilation-demanding Perl modules on a remote Windows machine, unconnected to the net. I used CPAN::Mini for a local CPAN mirror, but making the installation with my nmake and VC7 compiler seems nearly impossible. This really sucks :-( I’m for a campaign for “compilation free” modules - let them work slowly, but at least work !
