Yesterday we went to Ein Hod - an “art village” on mount carmel, between Haifa and Atlit. It’s a beautiful place, with breath-taking sceneries to the woods and the sea. Many painters and sculptors live there (hence “art village”), their houses open for the public to come in, get impressed from the works and even buy stuff.

There’s one pottery master who owns an old books warehouse, where you can buy old (used, very used…) books at bargain prices. I was delighted to have found two books I wanted to read for a long time - Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and Neuromancer by W. Gibson. I also bought a nice book about WWII for my brother. It all costed 70 NIS ($15), nice…

In the evening, we saw “A walk to remember”.

A really, really beautiful movie. Very touching (I don’t remember when was the last time I felt a tear sliding one my cheek…) and well-made. Mandy Moore plays her role delightfully. You can really feel what an angel Jamie is, how strong and unusual their love is, and how sad it is that she goes. At first I thought the marriage thing was stupid, but then I wasn’t so sure about it. After all, it was #1 on her list, and their love was so “out of their world”, so maybe it’s good that it happened. Highly recommended…

So, it was a nice weekend, and feel enough power to commence a new work-week.
